Executive Committee Vacancy

Executive Committee Vacancy

We are seeking a couple of individuals to join our committed and enthusiastic Board. The Board is responsible for The Ecology Centre’s direction and governance. The positions are on a voluntary basis.

The Ecology Centre is an established charity and social enterprise that provides direct experience of the environment to improve people’s quality of life. This is achieved through our education and volunteering programmes. Annually we work with more than 5000 individuals through our education programme (we are one of the busiest environmental education providers in Scotland) and support over 4000 volunteer hours. We employ 10 staff and have over 40 regular volunteers. Last October we moved into our brand new, purpose built Centre on the banks of Kinghorn Loch.

This is an excellent and exciting time to be involved in the organisation and be part of an initiative that changes lives.

The roles involve committing approximately 8 hours per month which would include a Board meeting every 6 weeks (in the evening). We are looking for input into our strategic planning, partnership working, developing income streams and ensuring the organisation has a robust plan in place for the future.
One of the vacancies is for an individual who has working knowledge of the public sector in Fife. The Ecology Centre would benefit from an individual who has insight into the current strategies and initiatives of Fife Council and / or NHS Fife. The individual would benefit from gaining a deeper insight into a grassroots organisation.

The appropriate people will be flexible in their approach, have an understanding of our sector and have an interest in the work of The Ecology Centre. The selection process will include an application form, references and an informal chat.

For further information about the organisation see www.theecologycentre.org.  For further details on the vacancy or to register your interest please contact Julie Samuel at Julie@theecologycentre.org or on 01592 891567.
