
Cafe Assitant
About the Role
To support the smooth delivery and development of our Nest Café, and other catering requirements for the organisation, working within our centre café team, The role will involve some baking and cooking, using locally sourced produce where available, barista tasks, customer service and cash handling and light cleaning duties, plus any additional reasonable tasks as needed by the organisation.
Zero hours / on call / variable contracts are also available, if preferable.
This role requires regular weekend and occasional evening working.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing, assisting with cooking and service of food and drinks to all catered groups and the day-to-day café needs and customers
· Ensuring routine checks are carried out and recorded in relation to fridge and freezer temperatures, stocking linens and cleaning products in the kitchen
· Maintaining a high level of cleanliness in kitchen areas
· Dealing with incoming orders and storing them correctly
· Supporting special events
· To participate fully with the in-house and external training programmes that form part of your development opportunities
· Responsible for setting up and clearing down at the end of the day
· Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for customers, other staff and volunteers.
· Encouraging volunteers and ensuring a positive and collaborative spirit in the team
· Assist in ensuring the Nest Café becomes a sustainable business.
· Any other relevant reasonable duties as may be required by the Business
Full training will be provided where required
Personal Qualities
Full training will be provided on all aspects of the role. Good timekeeping and reliability are essential.
