£23,809.50 (Pro-Rata)

About the Role

You will work alongside the site manager to assist in the delivery of projects within the aims of The Ecology Centre. This is a practical, hands on role with emphasis on practical outdoor maintenance. You will work on a mixed site that includes grassland, garden & woodland. You will also be expected to lead and work alongside volunteer groups which will have a wide range of support needs.

Key Responsibilities

• To assist in the delivery of projects within the aims of The Ecology Centre

• Practical outdoor maintenance and conservation work on mixed site that includes - grassland, garden & woodland.

• To support the Site Manager in supervising volunteers and trainees

• Ensure the buildings and site are safe and welcoming for all users

• To ensure that all Health & Safety policies and procedures are followed

• To ensure that all machinery is maintained and kept clean

Personal Qualities


Skills & Experience


Essential - 

  • Ability to communicate and work productively with a wide range of people

  • An ability to work individually and part of a team

  • Excellent time keeping skills

  • Experience working with a range of relevant tools and machinery

Desirable - 

  • Experience working with the general public

  • Health & Safety certificate

  • Previous experience in conservation, landscaping or building maintenance

  • Driving Licence/Chainsaw/Strimmer ticket

Education & Knowledge


Essential - National 5's Maths & English

Desirable - NC, HNC or HND in relevant subject
