THE ECOLOGY CENTRE!
We are absolutely delighted to have won a very prestigious “Nature of Scotland Award” in the "Community Initiative" category. The award, which was presented at a black tie event at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh on the 30th October 2013, is in recognition of all the hard work carried out by The Ecology Centre and its many volunteers in improving and maintaining the land around Kinghorn Loch.
Julie Samuel, General Manager of The Ecology Centre who attended the event along with Alison Gregans, Operations Co-ordinator commented, “We were up against some stiff competition in the most popular category so to have received the award is just amazing”. Alison who co-ordinates the team of volunteers at The Centre said “this reward is a well-deserved pat on the back for the army of volunteers who turn up week after week in all weather conditions and work tirelessly to keep the site looking spectacular for the public to enjoy, wildlife to flourish and environment to thrive. We may not have the most sophisticated equipment to work with but what we do have is a commited and motivated volunteer team”.
