We have a little bit of good new to share – which is wonderful as it feels like it’s been in short supply lately..
The Centre recently received some funding from the Climate Challenge Asset Fund (CCAF) and we are very grateful. The funding has been awarded to build more raised beds and purchase growing materials to support the redevelopment of the Centre’s Community Garden and our “Grow, eat & repeat” project that we’re hoping to start once lockdown levels lift.
We’re going to create more growing space and bring together a community of people looking to learn how to grow their own, reduce their carbon emissions and food waste. We will also be delivering educational videos, seedling giveaways, sharing recipes and any surplus produce with volunteers and local foodbanks.
We can’t wait to share more information about all of this and get started. Thanks again to CCAF and we hope everyone is doing OK and staying safe and well.
