If you have been out and about up at the Centre recently you might have noticed a lot of activity going on in our Community Garden...
Our brilliant staff, volunteers and Our Bright Future apprentices have been out in all weathers getting the structure of the new polytunnel up. Not an easy task when the holes for the posts need to be half a metre deep. All poles are now up and the ground has been levelled and so far 9 tonnes of gravel laid. A very hard and muddy task!!
Our dementia friendly Tool Shed volunteers are making raised beds which will go in the polytunnel for more growing of fruits and veggies! We just need a good weather day to get the polythene up and over. Not sure when that will be, but we will keep you posted
This would not be possible without all the support from our volunteering groups and funding from:-
- Community Growing Fund
- MacRobert Trust
- Suez Communities Trust
- RS MacDonald and Life Changes Trust
