We are delighted to announce that we have just been awared £46,000 from the latest round of Climate Challenge funding for a new community growing project, Easy Peas-y. This will help us to develop our new loch side site as a hub for the local community to learn about growing food. With the help of volunteers and staff, new people will learn skills and enjoy the support and company of others as they develop a community growing resource on site and discover how ‘Easy Peas-y ‘it can be to grow fresh produce at home.
We will work with two local schools, householders, groups and individuals to help them grow food either on site or in their own gardens at home. Our Tool Shed team have started to collect donated garden tools and they will be refurbishing them and have them ready to give to growers in April when the project starts. Our site team will also be pitching in and helping people to create growing space in their own gardens. Easy Peas-y is about overcoming barriers to growing food and making it a possibility for everyone.
Don't just watch this space, if you or your group would like to get involved, then please contact Jo on 01592 891567 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
