Two shiny newly refurbished toolkits each containing 49 tools have recently emerged from The Ecology Centre’s Tool Shed for shipment to projects in Malawi. The recycled tools, which were donated to the Tool Shed project, part of the UK Men‘s Sheds network, have been fully renovated by volunteers and forwarded to Tools for Self Reliance which gives people in Africa the skills and tools to get them out of poverty and into work.
This takes the number of toolkits send to Africa to three which is a great source of pride for the volunteers. Hamish Hamilton a regular volunteer at the Tool Shed commented “I’m sure that the people who donated their tools would be delighted to know that they will be used to help people in Africa learn new skills and improve the quality of life for themselves, their families and communities”.
