At The Ecology Centre we have developed therapeutic environmental education programmes, which use nature as a tool to improve the lives of young people facing challenges and disadvantage.
Sessions are tailored to each group’s needs and can involve the best that Ecology Centre education has to offer:
- experiential learning
- practical conservation
- creative activities
- nature exploration
- team building
- outdoor education
Sessions are designed to build self-esteem, communication and team-work skills as well as providing a therapeutic experience in nature.
Claire Reid, our nature therapy leader, has many years of experience working with those with additional support needs and challenging behaviour, she is also a qualified coastal and woodland activity leader.
Sessions tend to last 2 hours and we recommend programmes of 6 – 12 weeks where possible. We are very happy to discuss individual requirements as well as potential sources of funding. Contact Us
