About the event
The Ecology Centre in partnership with the Edinburgh Shoreline Project are celebrating the diversity of marine life that has historically been found here in the Firth of Forth. As part of our 100 species photo exhibition, we will be holding two craft sessions to provide participants an outlet for their ecological artistic pursuits. Attendees will have the opportunity to create their own seagrass meadow using compostable take-away boxes, cotton wool and alfalfa seeds. However, in order to make this a realistic diorama, you’ll have to populate it with some of the incredible marine species which reside in these habitats. Take inspiration from the diverse array of submissions as part of the 100 species project to help guide your creative journey.
This is an indoor event which will take place within the Ecology Centre’s education room, all materials will be supplied. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event. This is a bookable event so please register your place and be ready to provide proof of your booking. This is a free event, however the Ecology Centre kindly accepts donations from attendees as this money will help support our charity and material costs.
