About the event
During the month of October, the Ecology Centre will be running seagrass processing training for our existing Restoration Forth volunteers and interested community members. These events will take place in the Centre's mobile Seagrass Processing Unit (SPU), which will be based in the car park beside Pettycur harbour. The processing events will provide participants with technical skills in how to undertake and perform seagrass processing for seed based restoration efforts. The roles and responsibilities will be shared amongst the participants so they can observe and perform the necessary tasks needed to process seagrass seeds. Due to the limited space within the SPU only three volunteers can participate during each training session, so make sure to book your space.Â
Initially, the decision has been made to run six training sessions, however, more training opportunities may become available in the latter stages of the month depending on the processing requirements. Please continue to visit the Ecology Centre's what's on page to remain informed of when these events are to take place.Â
Please come dressed appropriately for these training opportunities, it is advised that participates come with sturdy waterproof shoes and waterproof trousers. As you may become wet during some of the activities involved in processing.Â
