About the event
The Ecology Centre and Fife Coast and Countryside Trust are running two seagrass seed surveys during the months of May and July, we will be kick starting this series of events on Thursday the 29th of May for an initial inspection of the reproductive state of the seagrass meadow at Burntisland Sands. We hope to monitor the development of the seeds over the summer period, when seagrasses undergo their reproductive cycle. Seagrass start by producing flowers and pollen before developing seeds, which are vital for the restoration of seagrass meadows.
This event series will enhance the surveying skills of our communities and provide community members with the opportunity to learn about the different reproductive stages of seagrasses. Participants will be provided with information sheets and recording materials to undertake these surveys.
Volunteers will meet with Lyle and Dom at the waterfront car park outside the Beacon Leisure Centre in Burntisland…
